Tin Man
Tin Man is a three-part sci-fi miniseries co-produced by RHI Entertainment and Sci Fi Channel original films that aired on the Sci Fi Channel in the United States in 2007. The first episode aired on December 2, with the remaining two episodes running on subsequent evenings. On March 11, 2008, it was released on DVD; the following year, it was repeated in the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. The miniseries stars Zooey Deschanel, Neal McDonough, Alan Cumming, Raoul Trujillo, Kathleen Robertson, and Richard Dreyfuss. It follows DG, a small-town waitress who is transported into a magical realm controlled by Azkadellia. DG ventures with Glitch, Raw, and Cain to find her true parents and stop Azkadellia's attempt to lock the O.Z. in endless darkness. The first part of the $20 million miniseries had 6.4 million viewers, making it the highest-rated program in its timeslot and the highest-rated miniseries of 2007. It received nine Emmy nominations, one of which it won, as well as a Critics' Choice Award nomination. Critics were divided, with some appreciating the acting, soundtrack, and visual effects while others considered it too dismal and bleak.
