Takeshi's Castle

The Tokyo Broadcasting System aired the Japanese game program Takeshi's Castle between the years 1986 and1990. The show ran for a total of seven seasons. It starred the Japanese actor Takeshi Kitano in the role of a count who ruled over a castle and posed challenging obstacles for players to overcome on their way to meeting him. The program has amassed a following among a specific demographic of television viewers all around the world. On April 2, 2005, as part of the festivities commemorating TBS's 50th anniversary, a one-time-only live "revival" was broadcast on the network.
