Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares
Gordon Ramsay is featured on the television show Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. The 2004 premiere of the BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning program was broadcast on Channel 4. In each episode, Ramsay visits a struggling restaurant and acts as a troubleshooter to help the establishment improve in one week. A few months later, Ramsay returns to the restaurant to determine how well business has been while he was away. As part of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares Revisited, episodes from series one and two have been re-edited with fresh content; they feature Ramsay revisiting restaurants a year or more after he visited them. After his four-year contract expired in2011, Ramsay declared in October 2009 that he would no longer produce Kitchen Nightmares and would instead focus on his other programs. A one-off show titled Ramsay's Great British Nightmare broadcast on Channel 4 on January30,2009, as part of 'The Great British Food Fight,' a two-week food-related programming series. Amid the broadcast, Ramsay advocated for viewers to begin patronizing local restaurants, particularly in an economic downturn. The American translation of this program, named Kitchen Nightmares, premiered on Fox on September19, 2007. Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares USA is aired on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom.
