Legends of the Hidden Temple
Children's game show Legends of the Hidden Temple is an action-adventure show. The plot revolves around a Mayan temple "stocked with buried treasures guarded by mysterious Mayan temple guards." Dee Bradley Baker introduces and voices a talking Olmec Head who "knows the secrets behind each of the treasures in his Temple." Kirk Fogg hosts and serves as the teams' guide. Six teams of two children compete to collect one of the Temple's historical artifacts by doing physical stunts and answering history, mythology, and geography-related questions. Only one team remains after three elimination rounds, and that team earns the privilege to go through the Temple in three minutes to collect the relic and win a grand prize. Legends of the Hidden Temple was taped at Nickelodeon Studios in Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, and was produced by Stone Stanley Productions in collaboration with Nickelodeon. It first broadcast on Nickelodeon on September11,1993, and repeats continued until February28, 1999. From 1999 until2007, reruns of the show were broadcast on Nick GAS and TeenNick. Legends of the Hidden Temple was nominated for a CableACE award for Best Game Show Special or Series in 1995.
