Hillside
Teenage drama Hillside, which originated in Canada and the United States and was broadcast on YTV in Canada from 1991 to1993, was called Fifteen in the United States. The show was the exclusive teenage soap opera broadcast on Nickelodeon and was conceived of and produced by John T. Binkley. The show, like most other daytime dramas, was shot on videotape throughout production. The series was originally created as Fifteen in an improvised form for The Disney Channel, where a pilot series consisting of 13 episodes was made and tested in the United States of America. After Disney made the decision not to move forward with the project, Nickelodeon and Canadian partners joined Binkley in producing the series. The series was known as Hillside in Canada during its first and second seasons, but it was titled Fifteen throughout its entire run of 65 episodes in the United States. After after, the show was aired all over the world via syndication, including in countries such as Germany and Israel, amongst others. The cast of the show, which consists of a vast ensemble, went through various transitions during the course of the show's four seasons. Among the cast, notable actors like Laura Harris and Enuka Okuma as well as Ryan Reynolds may be found.
