The Forgiving
Avi Brickman is a middle-aged man who is still reeling from his daughter's sad death five years ago. When he is abruptly fired from his work, the only lifeline remaining to his broken existence, he resolves to commit suicide in the home where the accident occurred. When he arrives at the lonely house in the woods, he discovers a mother and her small child have taken refuge there. He is haunted by the ghosts of his past throughout one long night, in his muddled state of mind, as he confronts his guilt and pain to a cathartic and unexpected climax.
