The Enchanting Phantom

A timeless love story about a scholar who falls in love with a female ghost and attempts to free her from the demon's eternal servitude. Ning Cai Chen, a scholar, travels to the capital to sit for the state exams. Along the way, he spends the night at Lan Ruo temple, where he meets and falls in love with Nie Xiao Qian, a ghost who seduces men and absorbs their life essence as an offering to Lao Lao. Ning Cai Chen and Nie Xiao Qian marry after much struggle, but Lao Lao plans to marry Nie Xiao Qian off to the Heishan Demon.
