Shoah
Without a single frame of historical footage, Claude Lanzmann directed this 912-hour documentary about the Holocaust. He conducts in-depth interviews with survivors, witnesses, and ex-Nazis (whom he had to film secretly since they only agreed to be interviewed by audio). His method of interviewing, which entails eliciting minute details, is successful at compiling these information into a chilling portrayal of Nazi genocide activities. He also demonstrates, or rather, allows some of his subjects to demonstrate, that the anti-Semitism that resulted in the deaths of 6 million Jews during the Holocaust is still alive and well in many individuals who live in Germany, Poland, and other countries.
