Leon, a 19-year-old, returns home to care for his alcoholic mother and adjust to adulthood after spending his adolescence in and out of foster care. Leon seeks solace in the boxing ring after becoming dissatisfied with his lack of education and bleak financial prospects. He soon meets the rebellious and beautiful Twiggy, who is squatting in abandoned houses to avoid her family's heartless wealth. As riots erupt in the streets and police and protesters engulf his neighborhood, Leon must choose whether to fight alongside his friends or to seek a new life with Twiggy.
