North Korea: A Day in the Life

This movie's cityscapes and patriotic songs are very different from Seoul Train's. This isn't a coincidence. With the full permission and help of the North Korean government, Dutch filmmaker Pieter Fleury made this propaganda film about a day in the life of one of the world's most mysterious societies. A Day in the Life is mostly told by the North Korean film bureau, and it shows how a typical North Korean family goes about their daily lives. The movie is mostly about how proud North Koreans are of their country and how great General Kim Jong Il is. The goal of the movie is to show how great modern North Korea is. But does it? Since there is no narration and only straight footage, viewers may see Fleury's film in a slightly different way than he intended.
