Billie
'Lady Day' was just one of the best jazz vocalists the world ever heard. In 1971, reporter Linda Lipnack Kuehl set out to write the clear-cut bio of Billie Vacation. Before her mystical fatality in 1978, Lipnack Kuehl had taped over 200 hrs of interviews. The tapes have never been listened to. Currently they develop the basis of a climatic, multi-layered docudrama that catches the many complex aspects of a pleased black lady, fierce addict, dedicated buddy, spiteful enthusiast and also remarkable singer of 'God Bless The Child', 'Saddest Story' as well as the haunting 'Unusual Fruit'.
