Primo Levi asserts that one Anne Frank evokes more emotion than the many others who suffered similarly but whose faces have stayed hidden. Helen Mirren, winner of an Academy Award, will enlighten the audience to Anne Frank's narrative through her diary. The set will be her room in the secret hideaway in Amsterdam, meticulously recreated by set designers from Milan's Piccolo Theatre. Anne Frank would have been 90 years old this year. Anne's tale is entwined with those of five Holocaust survivors, teenage girls with the same ambitions and will to live: Arianna Szorenyi, Sarah Lichtsztejn-Montard, Helga Weiss, and the Bucci sisters, Andra and Tatiana. Alternating with their testimonies are those of their children and grandkids.
